Preparation
When you receive confirmation of your appointment for the interview, make sure that you have accurately recorded the date, time, location, name(s), and titles of the individual(s) whom you will be meeting
Research the potential employer
Research the prospective employer and review their company website. Match your experience and knowledge which directly relates to the company and the position you are applying for.
Prepare a list of relevant questions to ask. Asking well-thought out questions will demonstrate your interest in the organization.

Be Your Best
Bring two copies of your resume to the interview. Be prepared for questions related directly to the information that you have listed on your document.
Do research on the company.
Do not be indecisive.
Practice your answers.
Do shake hands. Firm handshake. (not limp)
Be positive, do not lack energy!!!
Maintain eye contact as much as possible.
Dress professionally.
Do not make excuses.

This could be a technical skill such as a computer skill. You could add that you are upgrading whatever the skill is.

Accentuate your transferable skills!!!

Reply once again about your skills and your desire to join the organization.
8) Why are you looking for a job?
I have a solid plan for my career. Within that plan I am looking for more responsibility and growth.
9) What kind of salary are you looking for?
My salary requirements are negotiable. Your firm has a reputation of compensating employees fairly and I trust that you would do the same in my case. I am very interested in finding the right opportunity and will be open to any fair offer.
10) Why should we hire you?
Highlight your best attributes: positive attitude, fast learner, dedication etc.
11) Where do you see yourself in 5 Years?
That really depends on the firm I join. I would like to take a position with some responsibility and opportunity for growth. The key is the right challenge, I intend to continually contribute and grow with the firm.
12) What qualifications separate you from the other candidates?
Enthusiasm, dedication, flexibility etc. It is also a good idea to have a couple of examples of your problem solving skills in case you are asked of Problem, Action, Result oriented questions.

Show Them You've Put Thought Into This
One of the most important thing you must do in every interview is to ask great questions.
The key is to ask great questions- not to ask questions that you should know the answers to already (“What does the position entail?) or questions that make it all about you (“What is your vacation policy?”)
Here are 9 great questions you can use or make your own on your next job interview.
1) Who would make the ideal candidate for this position?
2) How will the work I’ll be doing contribute to the organization’s mission?
3) What were the best things about the last person who held this position?
4) What are three ways I can contribute to the company beyond the job description?
5) How can I best contribute to the department’s goals?
6) How do you see me best contributing to the corporate culture and morale?
7) What do you see as the biggest challenges of working here and how can I overcome those challenges?
8) What is your vision for where the company or department will be in one year? In 3-5 years?

ENDING THE INTERVIEW
How to Wrap It Up
At the end of your interview, you will be asked if you have any questions. Try to have at least 3-5 questions as well as the follow up. (May I have your business card)
Can you tell me what challenges your successful candidate will face for the position you are looking to fill?
Can you tell me how this position became available?
Can you tell me about your training program?
Stay clear of questions about salary, holidays, and benefits offered by the company unless the employer initiates them.
AFTER YOUR INTERVIEW
Don't Forget to Follow Up
Follow up with your recruitment consultant after the interview. Communicate once again your interest in the position, discuss the next steps, and review any points you may have omitted during your interview. Your consultant will provide you with feedback about your performance after speaking with the client. Take advantage of their advice, it may assist you in making your next interview better than the last one.
