Production Supervisor

Location - Toronto

Our client has an opportunity for a Production Supervisor responsible for efficient and safe manufacturing and assembly. The successful candidate will plan and direct manufacturing activities and establish priorities for projects in keeping with customer requirements and cost factors. Additionally he/she will maintain and develop technical expertise of the team and provide technical resources on projects.

Responsibilities;

[if !supportLists]· Coordinate manufacturing and field service activities with purchasing, design, and project management to obtain optimum utilization of human resources and equipment

[if !supportLists]· Review and approve work performed within the group

[if !supportLists]· Administer budgets in assigned area of responsibility

[if !supportLists]· Plan, organize, coordinate, assign and provide direction to staff

[if !supportLists]· Assist in planning and estimation of time/costs for manufacturing on projects and service work and project installation and commissioning

[if !supportLists]· Develop and implement operating methods, procedures and standards designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality

[if !supportLists]· Ensure coordination of work with that of other departments

[if !supportLists]· Review reports provided from Microsoft Navision ERP to determine status of materials ordered for production

[if !supportLists]· Strong attention to detail

[if !supportLists]· Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings

[if !supportLists]· Ability to mentor team and manage departmental improvements

[if !supportLists]· Solid knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade - knowledge of maintenance and repair of machine shop tools and equipment

[if !supportLists]· Inspirational leadership skills

[if !supportLists]· Must be flexible to a changing work environment

[if !supportLists]· Excellent communication and problem solving skills

Experience/Education:

[if !supportLists]· College or University - Ability to use Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

[if !supportLists]· Strong Mechanical and Electrical background

[if !supportLists]· Five to ten years of progressive experience in automation machine building

[if !supportLists]· Five years plus of supervisory experience

Salary – Commensurate with experience
