Electrical Manufacturing Designer
Due to continued growth our client has an exciting opportunity for a motivated Electrical Designer to join their dynamic team
Location - GTA
Responsibilities:
The role of electrical manufacturing designer is to be responsible for design activities related to the manufacturing of automated assembly lines.
Analyze design specifications and customer requirements
Design electrical subsystems including cables and electrical cabinets involving pneumatic, electrical and electronic components
Select appropriate purchased components
Produce drawings and bills of materials using CAD and ERP tools
Review drawings for accuracy, material selection, assembly techniques, etc.
Analyze designs and systems for compliance to applicable standards
Develop a test plan to verify that the equipment meets all relevant specifications including safety standards
Communicate with vendors for technical information and specifications
Communicate with technical managers, project managers and project team members regarding all aspects of the project
Assist the builders of the equipment in the resolution of problems to complete the project
Test functions of equipment include component testing and system testing
Assist the field service technicians to troubleshoot problems as required
Prepare documentation including set-up manuals and service manuals
Requirements:
A post-secondary diploma or degree in electrical design, electrical engineering
3+ years relevant working experience
Ability to use CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical) and or
effectively in the design work
Knowledge of applicable safety and electrical code standards
Knowledge of existing technologies in electrical design
Must have a valid Ontario G Driver’s License
Must be able to multi-task and prioritize issues
Proficiency in English
Must be able to travel internationally on occasion
Salary – Commensurate with experience
