Intermediate Environmental Scientist
Our client is seeking a dynamic Intermediate Environmental Engineer or Geoscientist in the GTA to assist with their continuous expansion program.
Responsibilities:
· Assisting Senior Project Managers, Engineers and Geoscientists in fulfilling multi-disciplinary environmental and hydrogeological related projects, including but not limited to Phase I/One and II/Two Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Excess Soil Management, Site Remediation and Hydrogeological Study.
· Conducting field work, including site inspections and monitoring, collecting and interpretation of technical data, scheduling/supervising environmental subcontractors, and collecting soil/groundwater/surface water/sediment/air samples.
· Conducting field work, including site inspection and monitoring, collecting and interpretation of technical data, scheduling/supervising environmental subcontractors, and collecting asbestos, mould, and hazardous building materials.
· Consistently executing prescribed technical procedures, safe work practices and work plans while completing field, laboratory, and office work. Ensuring environmental management, planning and regulatory compliance.
· Preparing technical memos, documents, and reports for submittal to clients and/or regulatory agencies.
· Preparing cost estimates, scope of work documents and proposals to address client requirements. · Maintaining good client relationship, acting as client and supplier liaison as needed, soliciting new business for the company, and contributing to sales and marketing meetings. Participating in project management, site and staff planning meetings and promoting positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in environmental technology, engineering, or science (environmental, geology, or hydrogeology).
· P.Eng. or P.Geo. license (preferred) Minimum of 8 years’ detailed knowledge and experience in environmental field investigation and sampling methods, and thorough understanding of applicable regulations, legislation, and policies (provincial, municipal, and federal).
· Ability to effectively and efficiently problem-solve, tackle new assignments and multi-task in a busy work environment.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to perform detailed analysis in various software programs.
