As the Senior Geoscientist - Excess Soil Business , you will manage soil-related projects, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide expert advice to clients and project teams. You will also serve as the lead Qualified Person (QP) for the organization, setting the direction for the excess soil business in alignment with the company's overall strategy.






Location - GTA


Key Responsibilities:


· Leadership and Management: Lead the company Excess Soil business, overseeing technical staff and providing mentorship and training opportunities.

· Project Oversight: Manage and oversee excess soil projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.

· Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.

· Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with provincial regulations, guidelines, and customer contracts.

· Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the excess soil market.

· Health & Safety: Foster and participate in a Health & Safety culture.

· Reporting and Documentation: Create and enhance excess soil reporting templates, workflows, and automations.

· Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with customers, partners, and regulatory bodies to facilitate effective soil management practices.

· Strategic Direction: Set the direction for the excess soil business in line with the company's overall strategy.

· Lead Qualified Person (QP): Serve as the lead Qualified Person (QP) for the organization.


Qualifications:


· Professional Certification: Hold a license under the Professional Engineers Act or a certificate of registration under the Professional Geoscientists Act.

· Experience: 8 to 10 years of experience in Environmental Site Assessment work.

· Driver’s License: Possess a valid Ontario driver’s license.

· Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

· Financial Accountability: Demonstrated experience in managing project-level profit and loss.

· Operational Experience: Experience working around heavy machinery and understanding of related safety protocols.
