Location - Greater Hamilton area As a a key member of the Planning and Development team the successful individual will be responsible for providing engineering technical review of development and permit applications. Additionally, this role will assist in providing technical services related to implementing various water management programs across the organization. Responsibilities: • Providing technical engineering plan and permit review of applications submitted under the Planning Act • Review hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to assess policies and technical guidelines compliance for floodplain management, water balance, and geomorphology plans, technical studies and design • Review environmental assessment reports, master drainage reports, geotechnical engineering reports, engineering design drawings and other documents as required • Assisting in administering engineering studies and construction contracts for projects such as floodplain mapping and shoreline hazard assessments .
Education: • A degree from a recognized university in Engineering with a focus on Water Resources and Land Development • Minimum three (3) years’ engineering experience • Professional Engineering Designation (Preferred) • Experience with hydraulic and hydrologic computer models Knowledge of relevant legislation including Conservation Authorities Act, Planning Act, Drainage Act and Environmental Assessment Act.
